Another significant part of adjusting to changing conditions is constantly assessing your effectiveness as a teacher and whether or not your students are successfully learning. After teaching a very challenging lesson in math, relating to estimating to divide with 2-digit divisors, I realized that many of my students were not understanding the material. At that point I had to reevaluate my teaching methods and my examples and rethink how I would teach the lesson more effectively, so that my students could understand. I redesigned the lesson to break each concept down and teach my students through many scaffolded examples and practice, allowing them to better grasp the concepts.
