Personal Essay Writing

One of the most rewarding experiences I had teaching my students over this semester was reading their personal essays. MSA testing provided me with an opportunity of a slightly more flexible schedule and open time frame, so I decided to spend the week having my students engage in the writing process, allowing them to choose a topic of importance to them. The students were able to write about any topic which they felt strongly about. The topics they chose to write about demonstrated their diverse values, cultures, and interests.
